Description:       Gatchaman II, DVD Box 2 was released in August of 2003 in two different versions. A buyer could either purchase the standard box set or opt for the slightly more expensive set which featured miniature figurines of the Ninja Team (Jun, Jinpei and Ryu with Box 2). No matter which version the buyer opted for, the programming content on each was the same.

Box 2 came in a colorful outer slipcase which housed three standard-sized DVD cases. There were two double-disc cases and a single disc case within the box. The artwork on the slipcase was new by Shizuo Kawai, while the artwork on the disc cases was all either previously-published, or newly composited versions of previously-published pieces. Each of the DVDs were screen printed picture discs with Gatchaman II images. Discs 6-9 contained five episodes each, while disc 10 contained six episodes. Extras on the discs themselves consisted of a presentation of an old version of a commercially released Gatchaman II "film" that could be viewed through a toy projector on Disc 6, Character model sheets on Disc 7, Mechanical model sheets on Disc 8 and art images on Disc 9.

The set included a nice 24-page, full-color booklet that featured a variety of interviews, information, merchandise lists, photos and episode synopses, but sadly there was little new or previously-unseen artwork. The promise of newly mastered editions was partially true, they did look better on average than the previous LaserDisc transfers, but the visible edit marks were still present which somewhat dampened enthusiasm for the release. The mono sound was again clear and free of any major distortion. The episodes were presented complete, along with their preview trailers, and each contained five chapter markers; one each for the opening, A and B story parts, preview trailer and ending. There were no mail-away incentives offered for either of these two box sets. Monaural
