This toy was released in conjunction with the Japanese "Gatchaman" OAV series. There is no weapon similar to this featured in the OAVs. It was motorized and shot small, foam discs that made a *pop* sound as they were fired. On the inside of the box leaves were various targets (Turtle King, Katse, etc.) that you could cut out . There were similar toys released in America around the same time, except that the ones in America were based on Spider-Man, Superman and similar heroes.
